Thirty-two years later, Chase Elliott, Bill’s son, etched his name into the record books by earning the 2020 NACAR Cup SeriesTM title. When the younger Elliott took the checkered flag in his No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet atPhoenix to clinch the 2020 crown, it meant that he and Bill, who also drove the No. 9 to his title, became just the third father-son pairing to earn a championship at the highest level of NASCAR®.To honor the championships of both Bill and Chase Elliott, Lionel Racing is excited to announce the No. 9 “Family Tradition” fantasy die-cast. Lionel Racing’s team of artists have created a design that combines Chase Elliott’s No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro with a design that reflects Bill Elliott’s No. 9 championship-winning mount from 1988.
