Custom Built JBL FC520 15" 16-Ohm Field Coil Coaxial (2-way) Prototype Loudspeaker as shown.
This is a field coil version of the mid 1950's JBL experimental Hartsfield woofer 520 that used a 375 magnet. This is a prototype from 2006 that was recently re-coned with a paper edge cone similar to the early 150-4C models.
The DCR is around 5-ohm so it should load nicely into most horn applications where a 16-ohm output is desired. Very powerful bass and mid-bass output is possible with proper loading that will exceed the alnico magnet version with explosive transients.
