hotel opened on April 14, 1950 as the fifth hotel to open on the Las Vegas Strip. It was
sold in 1987 and renamed the MGM Desert Inn. It eventually returned to the Desert Inn name. I
t closed in 2000 and The Wynn now stands where it was located.
