Century and virtually every film ever made in the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s & 60’s was edited on a

.  Because they were so widely used,
Moviola
became the generic term for editing machines of any brand.  Later on, digital editing became widespread and mechanical machine editing faded.  Many are still extant however and see considerable use, even  in these later years.
