Description

White chip.
Real history in this chip, several times over.
1.  The Pullman Company played a major part of American railroad history.  The cars now known simply as “Pullmans” were an ubiquitous part of life during the heyday of rail travel during the late 19th and early 20th century.
2.  The style of chips — die-cut inlays on the plain mold — is iconic in the history of gambling — right up there with “crest and seal” chips (a lithographic image on a paper inlay, also on the plain mold); and with the ivory and mother-of-pearl counters used in tge18th and 19th centuries.
3.  This chip was likely used in illegal on-train gambling.
4.  Issued by the United States Playing Card Company (USPC) sometime between 1921 and 1927, this chip is or soon will qualify as “antique” under the “100-year-old” rule.
